Process to create the Food Box network:
Realfood boxes
- 20 boxes to others per week = 2 free boxes for us, each customer needs to commit to 1 box per 2 weeks, so if all per 2 weeks we needd 40 people/homes, to get the process started (ie become a RealFood Network Hub we need 10 boxes per week,
- secure 10 people / homes that want to pick up from here
-
- Roland’s Contacts: Sarah (from CAFNEC) & Rene, Anna McGuire(from CAFNEC), Jo, Ciara?, Infinite Ideas collective people?
- Robin’s Contacts
- Nina’s Contacts
- Build shelves to store 10 boxes depth ways (longest side perpendicular to the shelf) 3 high so as to be able to eventually have 30 boxes
- Get flyer from Sjoerd & Chris
- Go around all the local houses & apartments with a display box & fliers & sign-up material to secure 10+ more members
- Once set up consider starting to offer other products & services such as Mungali Milk + Yogurt + Cheese & buying group products (Max Stocks items & others from different suppliers). keep in mind that we want to only get free veg boxes & Milk in return for making it easy for locals to be part of our extended community. design flyer to tell hub memebers that we want to offer these items and to see who is interested?
PTO
Mungalli Milk & Yogurt
- Delivery charge & cost makes products expensive,
- Max Stocks would consider stocking but thier mark up would add to this cost as we could get it for the same price direct from Mungali if we buy enough. Mungali offered Max Stocks to store the milk & yogurt & maxs stocks could come by when on a delivery run and pick up milk items directly and take them to customers.
- If we start offering Mungali products we would need to get fridges to store these in. hub members could come and get veg boxes & mungali products at the same time based on their pre-orders.
- Future option(s) is to have glass fronted fridges for ease of display & collection? and products available for purchase?
Buying Group
- Invite hub members to become part of buying group to get dry goods (local & organic & premium items) at wholesale prices (using their own or reuse-able containers) thus providing quality items for the extended community cheaper
- Hub members encouraged to become active members rather than passive consumers
- source suppliers (include Max Stocks)
