Cleaning our food spaces:
The process for ensuring things run smoothly in the kitchen is very simple: The preparation for the communal dinners starts right on dusk. This is for everyone to assemble in the eating area to help with cooking/preparing/cleaning that is needed and for the cooks to know numbers. · Refill the servery with plates · Help with food preparation · When a utensil, cutting board etc, has been used take it to the washing up area. · Wash up all utensils, pots & pans, etc as you cook the meal · Put any of the cutlery, plates etc away which are already in the drying rack before washing any more dishes · Serve up the food onto the server with cutlery · Hit the gong and people will magically appear from all directions! · If you didn’t get the chance to help with food prep or the cooking, collect the plates at the end of the meal and start washing up (prepare the dishwashing area) and make sure the kitchen is clean . This includes: sinks, floors, all surfaces, stoves, pans & pot (no rests, so that they don’t burn when pots get reused) THIS IS A COCKROACH, ANTS AND RAT PREVENTATIVE!!!! · After eating: Pack leftovers away and clean those dishes, as well. To contribute a recipe or meal for our cookbook is always welcome.
